These materials are designed to help trainees prepare for module 1 of the exam, in particular the ‘Background to language learning’ section, and focuses on the role of error in the language learning process.

Note about using these practice materials:

  • These materials are designed to be flexible. All three stages can be worked through at once, or each stage done separately.
  • Trainees may find it easier to print off the worksheets and complete them where and when convenient.
  • Trainees can complete these worksheets alone, with one or more of colleagues or with their teacher trainer. If they do the work alone, they will probably find it useful to discuss some of the ideas with colleagues afterwards.
  • It’s a good idea for trainess to look again at the worksheets a few days after they have ‘finished’, as they will probably find they have further ideas.
