Get your students into the Christmas spirit with these activities about Christmas in the UK.

Level:  Elementary

Time needed: Approx two one-hour classes for the three activities.

Main skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening

Materials needed: Coloured paper (A4); cardboard tube (10cm); string; squares, circles and stars for decoration; glue/sticky tape

Objectives: Students will:

  • learn about Christmas in Britain
  • learn Christmas vocabulary
  • practise following instructions
  • practise activities for Cambridge YLE exams
  • create a Christmas cracker
  • revise and remember grammar rules through song
