Elementary
Skills: Reading skills, including predicting content and making comparisons. Students have a jigsaw reading on Western and Chinese astrology and complete an information gap. Follow-on tasks include vocabulary for personality as students compare their Western star sign with their Chinese animal sign using the Internet.
Upper intermediate
Skills: Reading skills, including identifying the writer's attitude and responding to opinions. Follow-on tasks include recycling adjectives by choosing an additional animal for the Chinese zodiac and inventing the personality for those born during that year.
